Daniel Hungbeji navigates daily life as both a fisherman and a traditional ruler within the water settlement of Makoko in Lagos, Nigeria.

Each year the Lagos State Government, in Nigeria gradually encroaches upon this two century old settlement, displacing thousands from his community. We follow Daniel as he goes about his days, striving to preserve his community even as forces beyond his control threaten the erasure of his traditional way of life and legacy.
